One year down...MANY more to go

We are coming up on our 1 year anniversary of being married. It's amazing how time flies. We often heard that the first year of marriage was the most difficult, but we both agree that it was really pretty awesome! Here are just a few things we have done to keep ourselves busy.

We did that whole getting married thing :)

Went to the beautiful state of  Montana for our honeymoon

 Hiked through Glacier National Park

Almost sited a bear, but thank goodness Uncle Jim gave us hiking sticks with bells to shoo them away!

Went bowling every night in White Fish at an empty bowling alley

We moved to the Bay Area in June of 2012!

Wore patriotic outfits and went to the Redwood City Parade (which is a huge deal here!) People had their seats saved days in advance!

We discovered how fun photo booth can be on a Sunday afternoon

We have taken good use to our little kitchen in making things from homemade churros to Mexican feasts..really..the Lee's just love Mexican food! Tortilla chips and salsa are a new staple.

Discovered the beauty of the Oakland Temple

As our adventures continue, we keep learning what the "essentials" or "leesentials" of our lives are. Loving, laughing, and getting out and exploring new things are what keep us sane. Going to church and praying constantly is what keeps us happy and strong. More to come when we explore even more!

Meeting the families

Pretty early on Jimmy and I planned to meet eachothers family. I got lucky - his family lives in Hawaii! My life long dream has always been to go to Hawaii - and it truly was everything and more than I had imagined. Thanksgiving break Jimmy came home with me to meet my family. We prepared for the trek home from Idaho to Washington. The weather was nice, the roads were clear. In late November we were thinking we got off pretty easy! A little over an our out of my town we arrive to the mountain pass greeted by a blizzard. So our 13 hour drive now was being turned into a 14..15...16 hour drive. We were parked at the pass in the snow for an hour or so before we were able to start the drive through. Remember how lucky I was that my fiance lived in Hawaii? Well the only downside was that snow is quite foreign to him. My little toyota made it almost to the summit before we had to pull over and put chains on. The below freezing temperatures and the wet icy roads put a big challenge infront of the two of us. I was such a pill. Patience and love are so important! I felt like that was more effective than going to therapy. We finally made it through and home safely. We had a nice week in the Seattle area. A month or so later I was in Hawaii! I loved the warm friendly atmosphere of his family and all the people we met while we were there. I'm so grateful for good people in my life!

The Beginning

BYU-I-DO! Now, if you would have known me even 6 months ago, you would know how silly I thought the idea of marriage is. I never imagined myself being 20 years old and engaged to such a wonderful guy. But - I will say, when you know, you know! Jimmy Lee was roommates with my roommates fiance. Wordy..I know. I met him after church one Sunday and I thought he was nice but didn't think too much about it until he came over later that day. I found myself going out of my way to see him, or try and have my roommate invite him along to our activities. I watched him serve everyone around him and not to mention he is rather handsome :). Our first date we played with slingshots in the park and made homemade salsa. There was never any weirdness, any games, any question. It was so natural. I am marrying my best friend and I can't wait.
